Minecraft Festival is Postponed Due To Coronavirus Fears

Minecraft is such a cultural phenomenon that it was supposed to have its own three-day convention in September with interactive exhibits as well as co-op and competitive games live entertainment, panels and merch. Tickets to the first Minecraft Festival in Orlando were set to be available this week. ReedPop is also the organizer of New York Comic Con (NYC) and San Diego Comic Con (SDCC), announced that the event was postponed for a full year due to the coronavirus outbreak.  Minecraft servers Although the event was months away and the outbreak could be resolved at that point, the co-organizers, producers and exhibitors have hit a roadblock when it comes to arranging the event and making sure it is a fun experience.

Fans won't be able to miss out on Minecraft Live, though. The stream will continue as scheduled and will feature the latest Minecraft news, features, and behind the scenes glimpses of upcoming developments.

With many conventions and events being canceled or delayed due coronavirus concerns, this news isn't exactly a surprise. It's a bit odd that ReedPop and Mojang Minecraft's developers announced the convention less than a week ago when COVID-19 was a well-known virus. To their credit, however it was a wise decision to cancel the event prior to tickets going on sale and people made travel arrangements. A lot of problems could have been avoided by taking preventive action.
